Nunnery Way, Worcester

The Vision

To deliver an affordable community stadium, through a phased development, with non football raising revenue capable of meeting Worcester city Football Club’s long term ambition of achieving league football status.

The new stadium will form the centrepiece of a £30 million mixed-use scheme led by St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist. The mixed-use scheme includes leisure and office facilities, creating up to 600 new employment opportunities for Worcester.

The proposed site for the new stadium and mixed-use scheme lies around 3 kms/ 1.86 miles south east of Worcester City Centre and is enclosed by the M5, the A440 (Nunnery Way) and the A44. The nearest residential area to the site is Swinesherd which lies beyond the A44 to the south.

Worcester City Council and Worcester City FC have long recognised the need for the club to move from its current ground at St. George’s Lane to a new site within the city.

Both the proposed new stadium at Nunnery Way and the redevelopment of the club’s existing ground at St. George’s Lane form part of the City Council’s Local Plan, which will inform the decision on the planning applications for both sites.
